Calling All Pirates

发布时间:2019-04-15 19:41

An Argentinean Superior Court has ruled that copying (pirating) software is not illegal, Reuters has reported.

Apparently the Superior Court upheld a decision by a lower court that rejected an attempt to prosecute a group of suspected software pirates.

Interestingly enough, a Price Waterhouse study said that over 70 percent of all software in Argentina is pirated an

d costs software companies over US$160 million per year. The US has asked Argentina to enforce laws that would protect intellectual property.

Pirates and hackers all over the world probably won't call Argentina the pirate mecca just yet, but without the threat of legal prosecution overshadowing the act of pirating itself - it could become a nice vacation spot for pirates l

ooking to get tans.
